Spring 2026

Onshape, 3D Printing
I created this Lighting-McQueen inspired gravity car for a dynamics lab at Duke University. My partner and I were tasked with creating and testing a car that was powered only by gravity going down a ramp. I went through many design iterations in Onshape, adjusting the width, length, and nose design of the car in order to reduce drag. I also created a pocket for weights in the car to ensure weight was distributed towards the rear axle. The wheels were designed to have a low moment of inertia by minimizing mass. Once printed and assembled with weights and ball bearings, I painted the car to resemble Lighting McQueen.
