Lazy Susan

Lazy Susan

SolidWorks, 3D Printing

My sophomore year, I engineered a multi-level, 3D-printed lazy susan with a rotating stand and two-part base as a personal project. This project was inspired by how much stuff I had lying around my desk that needed a home. I constructed the model in SolidWorks. I assembled the full model to simulate the final fit and motion. I also printed parts of the stand to ensure correct tolerancing as I worked on the design. The rotation is enabled by a single ball bearing. If I were to do this project on a larger scale, perhaps by woodworking, I would invest in a proper lazy susan bearing. This has been my most useful project as I continue to use it on my desk daily.
